I am an amateur photographer living in Luxembourg. It was probably the Kodak Instamatic camera that I received when I was a kid that aroused my interest in photography. My first Single Lens Reflex camera, that I bought during my University studies, significantly upgraded my creative possibilities. It served me well during many years.
Later, due to my professional commitments, I almost forgot about cameras and photography. It is only after my retirement in 2019 that I rediscovered my passion for photography. Since then, I invested in training and new equipment and launched my “second career”, as a photographer this time.
Initially, I mainly focused on Landscape photography. However, the further I move on, the more I feel attracted by other subjects and new techniques. Recently I discovered infrared photography. I bought a full spectrum converted hybrid camera. This allows me to explore the near infrared light spectrum. Since that moment I am addicted to infrared photography.
As a photographer I would describe myself as being opportunistic. I tend to follow my intuition and “gut feeling”. I am afraid that I am not very style consistent. I like testing new routes and looking out for new subjects. I am attracted by light. I like the challenge posed by shade, shadows and light and the resulting contrasts. Lines tend to be an important compositional element in many of my images.
Luxembourg and its greater region offer a variety of Landscapes and plenty of motives for photographers. I enjoy exploring the many spectacular walking trails of Luxembourg. Most of my Landscape photos are made during these hikes. Have a look in my gallery. Enjoy!
